Family Counselling

Are concerns about your child’s behavior at school causing stress at home? Is your baby causing you to feel overwhelming, inadequate and disconnected from your partner or older siblings? Do you feel resentment, guilt, or sadness about how your family has been functioning? Is your teenager ruling the house and disrespecting you or your partner? Do you find yourself questioning your parenting approach?  If so, professional support may provide the clarity and tools your family needs.

Family counselling offers a safe and structured environment where every family member’s voice can be heard and respected. Through this process, families can:

  • Build deeper understanding and empathy for one another
  • Address individual challenges that impact the family as a whole
  • Develop healthier communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strengthen parent-child relationships and overall family dynamics

The goal of family counselling is to create stronger connections, restore appropriate balance, and foster a more supportive and resilient home environment.

In situations of separation or divorce, I support parents and children through the challenges of transition and changing family dynamics. Through this process, children can learn to navigate two distinct households and extended family relationships, and manage intense and often different feelings towards each parent. Parents can learn how to respond appropriately to their children, co-parent effectively with their ex-partner, and address their own intense feelings.
